Wantage and District Darts League Rules

 

 

 

General

The Annual General Meeting to take place annually during the winter months.

League entry fees, set by the AGM, must be paid on or before registration night

All teams should make every effort to attend the AGM.

 

4

 

All voting at the AGM will be based on 1 vote per team.

The AGM will only accept proposals sent in writing to the secretary not less than 14 days before the AGM

Teams must register on or before registration night with at least 8 names and the correct entry fee. £35 with £10 discount if paid on time.

All players must be registered with the secretary prior to playing. If an unregistered player played then result goes to opposition 6-3 unless actual score is better. Offending team to receive penalty of 3 points.

No transfers will be allowed

League games to be played on Thursday nights as per fixture list except in exceptional circumstances and agreed by both teams and the league secretary.

The visiting team should arrive at the venue by 8-15pm to make the draw with games starting at 8-30pm

Any team failing to fulfil a fixture, unless on the grounds of bad weather or power failure, will be fined £10. The game will be awarded to the opposition 6 - 3 with the offending team receiving a penalty of 3 points. If appropriate the home team will receive £10 compensation from the league.  Failure by the offending team to pay the fine to the league (through the secretary) within 14 days will result in the team being barred from the league until such times that the fine is paid. All games due to be played (or played) during this time will be awarded to the opposition 6-3 with the offending team receiving a penalty of 3 points.

If during the match a player is not available when it is their turn to play a substitute may be used.

Matches to consist of 6 singles and 3 pairs games and played in that order.

Draw for the pairs using any registered player to be made after the singles match.

If any team is a player or more short all available players must be placed in the draw and the first complete set or sets of pairs must play. The team having a full set of players must place all names in draw.  The exception being when one team only has four players in which case the other team may select 4 players to put in the draw.

Pairs must be played as pairs. Any team with only one player available to play in a pairs game must forfeit that game.

The home team captain is responsible for ensuring the result card reaches the secretary by the Saturday evening following the match.

1 point will be awarded for each game won. i.e. 9 points at stake.

Points may be deducted for late result cards.

If teams are level on points; games won will count. If still level results between the two teams involved will count.

Competition fees must be paid by the date set on competition form.

All competitions to be played at the venue stated.

Pubs and clubs with more than one team may mix players for competition entries

Competition winners are responsible for ensuring the secretary receives the result by the Saturday evening following the game.

The throwing line must be 7ft 6ins along the floor from the face of the board

The bulls eye must be 5ft 8ins from the floor

Boards must be in good order

Electronic score boards may be used as long as least the previous three scores of each player or team are displayed

Any protest must be sent to the secretary within 21 days of playing the game along with a fee of £2 which will be returned if the protest is upheld

On all other matters including any disputes the decision of the committee is final.

 

 

 

Winter Section

Divisions 1 & 2 will play 6 games of singles 501 double in & out best of 3 and 3 games of pairs 501 double in & out best of 3.

Divisions 3 & 4 will play 6 games of singles 501 double in & out best of 3 and 3 games of pairs 501 double in & out 1 leg only.

Away team to throw 1st in games 1,3,5,7 & 9. If a 3rd leg is required in any game the player throwing first in the 1st leg to throw 1st in the 3rd leg.

Singles competitions will be 501 double in & out no bust, best of three legs,  toss of coin to decide who throws first in first and third legs (if required)

Pairs competitions will be 501 double in & out no bust, best of three legs, toss of coin to decide who throws first in first & third legs (if required). Must be played as pairs. In exceptional circumstances, and only in the first round, the secretary may allow a player change.  The secretary’s decision is final.

All triples competitions will be 801 double in & out no bust, best of three legs, toss of coin to decide who throws first in first & third legs (if required).  In exceptional circumstances and only in the first round the secretary may allow a team change.  The secretary’s decision is final.

De-prêt Roose competition is played as 5 singles matches, each one to be 501 double in & out no bust, one leg only. Toss of coin to decide who throws first in legs 1, 3 & 5 if required. In exceptional circumstances the secretary may allow a team change and then only in the first round. The secretary’s decision is final.

 

 

 

 

Summer Section

Division 1 & 2 will play 6 games of singles 501 straight in double out best of 3 and 3 games of pairs 601 straight in double out best of 3.

Other divisions will play 6 games of singles 501 straight in double out best of 3 and 3 games of pairs 501 straight in double out 1 leg only.
